Mint Cucumber Raita


2 cups plain yogurt
1/2 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
1 cucumber—peeled, deseeded, and shredded
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste



Whisk the yogurt in a bowl until completely smooth.

Add the mint leaves, cucumber, cumin, chili, sugar, and salt and mix well.  Then cover the raita with plastic wrap and chill for at least two hours. 

Serve as either a dipping sauce for veggies and pita, or as a sauce on top of lamb or curry.
